A young lamb that has been unable to walk since birth is finally getting the chance to walk – thanks to a make-shift “lamby bouncer”.
The lamb, aptly nicknamed Bouncer, got an infection which affected his joints and means he is unable to strut about her farm, owned by Alan Hunkin.
Alan’s daughter Cheryl came up with a genius plan to make a baby bouncer for the lamb from a canvas shopping bag – cutting holes out for its legs, head and tail.
The bungee allows the adorable animal to build up strength in her limbs and learn to walk with the help of her owner.
“The lamb couldn’t stand which meant he couldn’t feed off his mum or any other sheep. He needs to be bottle fed” said Cheryl.
“I can hold the bag and help him walk along. I also hang the bag on a bungee jump chord off a hammock in the garden”.
She added: “Every day I give him an injection of antibiotics and bottle feed him every three hours. He is getting quite fat, he loves his food. I might have to get him a bigger bag”.
