That's one way to play it when you offend someone repeatedly on live TV...
Some might apologise, but Karl Stefanovic, host of Channel 9's breakfast show in Australia went with another approach, claiming it didn't really matter what he said, since nobody was watching anyway.
In this clip, uploaded to YouTube on Sunday, Stefanovic seems to imply that the gentleman featured in footage the show had just aired had eaten his own girlfriend, complete with Austin Powers style 'Get in ma belly' quotes.
His co-presenter attempted to warn him that a line might have been crossed, saying; “I don’t think you can say that”, but Stefanovic owns it with a reply he'd never get away with on RTÉ.
“Yes you can. Eighteen minutes to six in the morning, noone's watching.”
They are now Karl.
