This might be the most amazing gift you’ll see this year.
Ken Stehle, a 49-year-old father from St. Louis, has been deaf since birth.
Last week, Ken received a new hearing aid that requires him to wear a receiver around his neck. On Sunday, his daughter Ashley wore a special microphone that transmits to the receiver, and performed at her school’s annual Christmas concert – allowing her father to hear her sing for the very first time.
“It’s amazing, I had goose bumps all over me. I’m very proud of my daughter,” Ken Stehle told local news station KSDK.
Speaking to Yahoo, Ashley, whose mother is also deaf, said she could see her dad in the audience while she was singing and knew that he could hear her. “He was sobbing. I was holding back. At that moment were inseparable,” she said. “Now my life is fulfilled. I love to sing and my parents can’t hear, which is heartbreaking. But now my dad can hear me and it’s awesome.”
