A woman has revealed how she was asked to supply pictures to a Vegas club in which she hoped to host a hen party, as ‘they don’t like ugly girls’.
Vegas may be known as Sin City, but the actions of one club promoter are pure shocking.
A girl who only identifies herself as Zoe, told Jezebel:
“In the past, clubs/promoters/hosts have tended to go out of their way to provide a great experience for the bride, and the group, and occasionally throw in a few extras to make the evening special.”
Knowing this, Zoe decided to email a friend of a friend who worked at trendy spot Hakkasan in the MGM Grand to see if he could help make their hen party that bit more special.
After texting him to enquire about a booking with the club, Zoe entered a message exchange where she was told she had to send photographs of all 15 girls in the group. Confused, Zoe told the promoter she didn’t have 15 individual photos of the party.
His reply?
‘We’re not gonna give comped tables they are with 850 a bottle total to random girls. Then the club will be filled with hippos. That’s not what Hakkasan is about.’
As the exchange gets more heated, the Hakkasan worker told Zoe who admitted to not personally knowing all 15 girls in the group:
“So, if you don’t know them, how do you know they’re not whales or hippos? You’re from Massachusetts and that’s where I was from also.
“Girls don’t go to the gym over there. So it’s gonna be hard for 15 girls to be all 9-10’s. Just saying.”
Signing off on the exchange the young man posted a screen shot of what he said were the company’s policy on “comped tables,” which appears to explain that men can book tables without a picture, but women cannot.
