Vagina coloring books are a thing now and we’re obsessed

Colour me beautiful.

Whatever you call your vagina, don’t call it ugly!

So says the creator of a new vagina colouring book which aims to empower women to love their neither regions.

Colour Up Next Tuesday aka “C.U.N.T” is the feminist equivalent of the adult colouring books that have seen a surge in popularity recently due to their proven ability to reduce stress and infer calm.

Artist Beki Reilly claims that she was inspired to create the colouring book, which features all the lewd slag terms people have for vaginas because she wants women to reclaim negative phrases associated with our lady bits.

The book features some words that ladies may find a little bit distressing, like “cunt”, “twat”, “flaps”, “pussy” and my personal favourite “axewound”.

The point Beki is trying to make is that these are just words, and they already exist in the public space as it is, so why not try to make them more pretty.

She told Mic in a recent interview;

“By transforming the word with colour, you can completely change how you feel about it.”

She goes on to make some valid points about how these words can be used to humiliate women’s vaginas or take away from them in some way;

“I think words like cunt, gash and twat are intended to humiliate women for having a vagina, which is just ridiculous. As most colouring book users are female, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for women to reclaim those words with something as simple as pencil crayons…it’s important to take back words that are used to humiliate and make women feel uncomfortable with their body” she said.

The project is up on Kickstarter currently, and is just a few hundred pounds shy of its £1,000 goal.

We’d love to see this happen, it’s be your Christmas stocking gift sorted.

Stick’s and stones, eh ladies?
