An urgent appeal has been launched to help the family of Lydia Daly after an injury has left the Irish woman hospitalised in China.
A GoFundMe page established by the family and friends of Lydia states:
“In the early hours of July 30th our friend Lydia suffered a serious accident that has left her hospitalized in Guangdong China.”
Friends state that Lydia left Ireland for China on February 9th of this year, and has been working as an English language teacher in Guangdong for the past 6 months.
Close friend Peter Clarke writes:
“Lydia is a kind hearted, warm woman, who is brilliant with the kids, all the kids just gravitated to her.”
The GoFundMe page aims to raise €10,000 to help Lydia’s family fly to be by her side. More than 50% of the target has been raised in the first 17 hours.
