Tinder is the dating app that makes finding your potential other half a lot easier… if you’re not into the whole meeting someone face-to-face thing that is of course.
Anyone familiar with the app will know that it can be something of a dating minefield. Sure, the mechanic is as simple as it gets – but how many Tinder users actually get a match?
When the swipe is right you do just that, if you like the cut of someone’s jib you give their profile a like and hope they do the same to yours. However with 150,000 active Tinder users in Ireland, the statistics of a ‘match’ are pretty low.
Market research company Ipsos MRBI has revealed that only 1 per cent of people in Ireland end up actually finding a match on Tinder.
Yes, just one out of 100 people have swipes that are likely to turn into something more than just idle chit-chat.
The study also showed that the users are more likely to be under the 25-age bracket and contrary to belief, Irish accounts are equally balanced in gender.
So ladies, if you’re finding it difficult to get a match on Tinder, you have two options… Delete the app or invest in a Tinder-O-Matic, a gadget that has the ability to like over 10,000 profiles in just 12 hours. Not a bad night’s work.
Hat-tip to our brothers over at JOE.ie for this one and the lovely folk over at the Independent.
