Save money and do some good for the world around you by using simple measures to conserve energy in the home. If you’re not sure where to start – don’t worry! We’ll be bringing you one great energy-saving tip every day for the next month.
- Turn Your Refrigerator Down
Did you know that the fridge can account for about 20 per cent of your household electricity use?
When you calculate what that adds up to in a year, that makes for one expensive appliance, so the quickest way to save money is to keep a close eye on your settings.
Use a thermometer to set the fridge as close as possible to 37 degrees Fahrenheit, and the freezer as close as possible to 3 degrees.
Checking the gaskets around the doors to make sure they are clean and closing properly is another way to put the big freeze on your bills!
