From the mountain top…

There aren’t many places in the world where you can travel from snow-topped mountain to sunbathing on the beach in less than two hours but Tenerife is one of them. Teide National Park is a World heritage site and has some amazing landscape, including the third highest volcano in the world Mount Tiede! You can either climb to the summit if you’re feeling up for a challenge, or take a cable car will take you close to the top of the volcano.

Have a whale of a time

Watch the amazing creatures of the deep from the deck of a sailing ship. Bottle nosed dolphins, minke and sperm whale occupy and pass through the warm waters between Tenerife’s west coast and neighbouring La Gomera making Tenerife one of the best places in the world to watch them in their natural habitat.

Splash and slide!

Siam Park is arguably one of the best waterparks in Europe! If you’re feeling brave, hang on to your swimwear and take a deep breath before plunging the 28m drop down the Tower of Power. Ride the largest artificial waves in the world at the Wave Palace and if you’re not feeling active enough to climb Mount Tiede try Siam Park’s version instead!  Or if you’re in the mood to chill, simply relax on the Mai Tai River, the world’s biggest meandering lazy river.

Day Trippers

Take a ferry from Los Cristianos in Tenerife to San Sebastian de la Gomera where Columbus himself set sail from! The tiny island of La Gomera has so far escaped the onslaught of mass tourism meaning it has maintained its quaint charm. The beautiful wild green landscape is perfect for a day trip where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the island as you stroll through the forest and take in the sea views.

Animal Magic

Sticking with the animal theme – Loro Park is a fantastic animal park located in Puerto de la Cruz.  The zoo has lots of different animals including tigers, jaguars, gorillas and chimpanzees. There are also shows throughout the day like the dolphin and sea lion shows.  There are restaurants on site and unlike a lot of zoos the prices are fairly reasonable. The zoo is open from 08:30 – 18:45 and there is enough to keep you well entertained for a whole day!

Dive in…

To get more up close and personal with the sea life you could try scuba diving. Tenerife is renowned for diving due to its interesting maritime and underwater architecture that was created as a result of volcanic eruptions over the years.  This coupled with beautiful warm, clear water makes Tenerife a perfect diving spot.

For families heading to Tenerife Costa Adeje is the resort with the most to offer. The Dream Villa Tagora Aparthotel is a perfect choice for families with the Kids Club available for kids aged from 3-11.  While the Playa Olid Suites and Apartments also located in Costa Adeje is located close to Siam Park and offers customers unlimited access to the park which for parents is a dream come true!
