There’s a big change coming to Tinder from next week

But it's a good one.

Tinder is about to change for the better.

After concerns that the age limit of 13 and over was inappropriate, they’ve changed things around. From next week on only people aged 18 and over are permitted to use to app.

This change is only going to affect less than 3 percent of the app’s total user base.

According to The Telegraph, a spokesperson for the company said it has a “responsibility” for its users and said, “we have decided to discontinue service for under 18 users”.

People will still need to log in through Facebook so concerns have still be raised about children under 18 falsely adding dates of birth in order to gain access to the app.

The NSPCC has welcomed the change, but added, “However, for this decision to be effective there needs to be robust age verification tools across all platforms. Social media companies have a responsibility to protect their young users.”
