You can’t beat a good holiday and now that the festive season is all over, it’s time to turn attentions to that summer trip.
Unfortunately, there are four long months between now and June so we won’t judge you if you need a sneaky little break in between.
Travel agents have some really attractive offers on the off-peak season, meaning that you can get away without breaking the bank.
Here’s a few suggestions…
Boston
Paddy’s Day is on the horizon so why not try celebrating somewhere different for a change? As well as enjoying the holiday, why not check out some of the city’s excellent museums such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Science or indulge at the famous Oyster House on Union Street and the delicious Boston Pretzel Bakery!
American Holidays is offering four nights in the three-star Boston Midtown Hotel this March from only €899pp, including return direct flights from Dublin with Aer Lingus, four nights accommodation and airport taxes.
Alternatively, try the above trip with an addition three nights at the three-star Cape Codder Resort & Spa for €977 per person, based on two sharing.
Lanzarote
If you want to top up your tan and laze on the beach, why not try Lanzarote? From the amazing geysers of Timanfaya National Park to the Aquapark in Costa Teguise and the old fishing village of Arrieta, there are so many things to do in Lanzarote but the main reason people visit in the winter is to relax under guaranteed sunshine on some of the most beautiful beaches in the Canary Islands.
Stunning sands line the main resorts of Puerto del Carmen, Playa de Los Pocillos, Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca, with the perfect shores for water sports.
Thompson Holidays have a trip from Dublin to Lanzarote on February 8th, staying at Timanfaya Palace on Playa Blanca for seven nights half-board for€669pp.
Kuala Lumpur and Borneo
If you’re really looking to push the boat out, why not try the holiday of a lifetime to Malaysia and Borneo.
Spend three nights in the four-star Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on a B&B basis before enjoying nights in the five-star Shangri La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa in Koh Samui (room-only) with Travelmood from €1,189pp.
The price includes return flights from Dublin in March, internal flights to Borneo, 11 nights accommodation, return airport transfers and taxes, based on two sharing.
