This woman had the best response to a racist train passenger

She stood up for what she believed in...

One woman is quickly becoming viral because of her response to racism she witnessed on a train in the UK.

Following the Brexit vote, unfortunately, we’ve heard of so many tales of racism in both the UK and Ireland.

Maxie Wade, a comedian from Leeds, has shared her account of travelling on a train when she saw one man be victimised for not being British.

“I was on a midnight train from Leeds back to York last night when I was witness to a horrific post-Brexit racist attack.

“I was sat on a table with James, when I heard shouting halfway up the carriage. I turned around and there was a rather charming drunk idiot sat with his equally charming mates shouting the words “Cunt! Cunt Cunt!” over and over again.
“I ignored it, and went back into scrolling through my phone. I heard further inaudible shouting, then I heard the words “Where the fuck are you from?!”. That my ears pricked up and I took notice.”

After ignoring the idiotic behaviour of this man, Maxie noticed the unacceptable behaviour of the racist passenger.

“This obnoxious idiot was giving racist abuse to a young man who sat on the table next to him who he considered to be from overseas.
“He began interrogating the poor guy “Where the fuck are you from?! Are you a student who is going to fuck off back home when your done, shouldn’t fucking let them in. I voted Brexit”. “I’ve been in York all my life” and other moronic nonsense.

“I was several seats away, but got out of my seat to see what was happening. A few people were telling him to be quiet. But no one was standing up and sticking up for this young man, who was travelling alone and who was minding his own business on his laptop.

Following his original rudeness, he went on to involve other passengers in this racist attack but Maxie decided to take a stand.

“The racist idiot turned around and said to a man in front of me “What do you think of this fucking twat over there coming over here?!!”
The man in front of me looked down at the floor and mumbled something.

“I stepped forward and bellowed “HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT PEOPLE IN THAT WAY”. To which he replied “Who the fuck rattled your cage, love”. At this point I lost it, not only was he a racist but a misogynist as well. I lost my temper.

“What makes you think you can talk to me in that way? Like the way you have abused the man next to you who you don’t even know, you know nothing about his life, you know nothing. He has as much right to be here as you do. It’s absolutely disgusting racist behavior!”

After her outburst to stop this man’s behaviour, Maxie was applauded by her passengers for taking a stand.

“I heard people clapping in the carriage. I said I was going to get a conducter, I walked all the way to the far end of the train and couldn’t find anybody, I walked all the way back to the other end to find a conductor sat by First Class.

I asked him for help, and explained there was a man racially abusing a man next to him and could he come down. His response “You need to find the other conducter for that”
I explained I had looked all over for someone and he was the first member of staff I had found. His response “It’s not my job to get involved!” My mouth was agape at this point, I couldn’t believe a member of staff wasn’t even going to help when a passenger was in trouble.

Absolutely disgusted with First Transpenine Express and will be making a formal complaint.”
