Regardless of where you live in Ireland, there’s probably a few great tourist attractions in your area…and chances are, you haven’t seen them.
When you live somewhere for a long time, you can start to see it with jaded eyes so why not try something different this weekend? Here’s a few ideas to get you started!
Dublin: Dubliners are spoiled for choice when it comes to amenities so why not start with a stroll around the Iveagh Gardens, a trip to the Guinness Storehouse, on to Kilmainham Gaol and finish with a nice pint in town.
Cork: Grab some brunch at the English Market before heading for a wander around Fota Wildlife Park, finished with the ultimate tourist experience – a trip to Blarney Castle to kiss the Blarney Stone.
Galway: If the weather is good (for once), pick up a feast at St Nicholas’ Market and sit by the Spanish Arch for a picnic. Next, off to the Galway City Museum to see the latest exhibits before seeing the city in a whole new light with an open top bus tour. Finish with a hot whiskey and an evening of people watching outside Neachtains.
Limerick: King John’s Castle is a must see so that’s first on the list, followed by a trip to the Hunt Museum to see the fantastic Faces of Limerick exhibition and then catch a show at the Limetree Theatre.
