Forgive us if we’re stereotyping here, but us Irish often try to sweep those emotional, weepy times under the rug, or go to great efforts to hide the fact that we whaled uncontrollably during the secret trip to the bathroom.
Well clearly, there’s no hiding it from this guy!
Surrounded by family and friends on the big day, these shots show how much the bride and groom were loved and adored by those nearest to them.
It’s not just about the perfect dress, the vibrant reception display or the yummy feast afterwards (although it’s safe to say, a decent meal is VERY much appreciated - yum!).
It’s about being comfortable, it’s about atmosphere and the memories you want to make.
Those immaculate photos where we strike a structured, formal pose are beautiful, but they’ll never be quite as poignant as these!
So, just how does he do it?!
Well… clearly Dermot has a particular gift for going unnoticed while the bride and groom take centre stage, ensuring all guests have the space and comfort to let their true feelings show.
The multi-award-winning wedding photographer has a particular love for capturing all those expressions, reactions and details using black and white imagery.
Why? Well… not only do black and white images offer a timeless quality, but that lighting and composition ensures a flawless look AND helps emphasise people’s emotions.
Without colour, our eyes can also see everything from an alternative perspective - they don’t have to concentrate on so much colour - although if you want to capture that vibrant coloured bouquet, that’s no problem either!
Forget about just learning how to strike a practised pose in front of the camera - images that are authentic are evidently the most sought after, especially in 2018 AND in the years after your big day.
As life goes on, don’t forget to look back and remember just how much love was in that room - we’re quite sure images like these will help instil its presence and keep it alive!

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in all of Ireland and you need to visit this summer
This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the country There’s no denying that Ireland is one of the most beautiful places in the world, even more so during the summer months. I’m hoping to spend more time in Ireland this summer rather than heading abroad, and there’s one hotel I’m itching to visit […]

‘I’m a 35-year-old in HR, earning €26k, and this was my biggest financial mistake’
I’m a 35-year-old in HR, earning €26k, and this was my biggest financial mistake Let’s be honest, most of us are at least a little bit nosy when it comes to money. We want to know what other people are earning, how they’re actually getting by, and what their spending really looks like (not the […]
