This Social Experiment is a Really Tough But Crucial Watch

Cassie Delaney

It highlights a problem that affects 33,000 children every day.

Coby Persin has received internet fame multiple times for his videos and social experiments.

His previous experiments around The Dangers of Social Media and Homelessness have gone crazy viral and opened peoples eyes to the reality of social perception.

His latest video focuses on the issue of childhood marriage, a popular tradition in many African countries, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Middle East. It affects 15 million girls a year.

In this video experiment, Persin places a pensioner in Times Square with a 12-year-old girl in a wedding dress.

Many people stop and attempt to remove the child from the situation, despite the man stating he has parental permission. It is clear those who feature in the video are disgusted with the prospect.

The video is a powerful reminder that the practice is so common and needs to be addressed globally.
