This New Facebook Feature Means You Can’t Ignore Those Event Invites

Facebook is about to make it a lot harder to ignore those annoying event invites. The social media site is rolling out a new feature whereby event notifications will now have read receipts. A spokesperson for the site told the Daily Dot: "We're piloting the ability for private event hosts and guests to know whether their friends they invited have seen the event." The idea is that organisers will then know who to follow up with if they genuinely missed the notification. However, it also means that you can't pretend you never saw the invite to "BuTSY's  HoUSE waRMing SEsh" when you bump into him on the street.
