This is how much money you would have won if you’d bet on Brexit, Trump and The Premier League

The events of 2016 have completely shocked the nation – so much so that bookies are losing out on big bucks from the few who favoured the unlikely.

Now in a blog post, Paddy Power have revealed that the most shocking events of 2016 would have crazy odds.

The treble bet of Leicester City winning the Premier League, Brexit happening and Donald Trump being elected as US President would have been listed at 3,000,000/1. Each individual event seemed so unlikely and yet, here we are.

If you had the mystic foresight to  somehow predict all three strange occurrences, a €5 bet would have amounted to €15 million.

Paddy Power write:

“To put it in perspective the cheeky bookie makes Alien Life being discovered this year much more likely at odds of just 80/1.”

While nobody had the crazy optimism to bet on the treble. Paddy Power has confirmed over 70 punters did back the Brexit/Trump double.

This included a customer from the UK who placed a chunky bet at odds of 12/1 – winning almost £14,000.

A weary Paddy Power said:

“There’s no doubt 2016 has been a year of major upsets with Leicester winning the title, Brexit and Trump becoming President – and the massive odds of 3,000,000/1 reflect that. The way this year is going I wouldn’t rule out flying reindeer, and the real Santa Claus getting stuck down my chimney.”
