When it comes to weddings, there are many clichés that people indulge themselves in.
Whether it’s getting a limo to the church or a horse and carriage out of the church grounds, there are plenty of things we see at wedding that we’ve already seen before.
When the bride or groom ask you about the day you feign a smile and nod enthusiastically when they ask you are you enjoying yourself when really, you’re thinking about the how and when you’re going to get the next glass of prosecco – or maybe that’s just me.
One couple who has certainly blown all clichés of an Irish wedding out of the water is newlywed couple Sean and Catherine O’Sullivan.
Catherine and Sean who got married in Midleton church in Cork made quite an impression at their reception yesterday by turning up in a combine harvester.
Their friend Kate Kenny who was at the wedding told us how the couple arrived at the Garryvoe hotel.
“The groom made an unplanned stop between their wedding ceremony and reception to change vehicles yesterday…
“Needless to say Catherine was surprised but being the good sport that she is she swopped her heels for pumps and hitched up her dress to get into the combine to travel the rest of the journey…”
And from these photos, it looks like everyone had an absolute ball.
Could we see a trend of combine harvesters at weddings from here on out? Who knows.
