This is the dream!
As a woman, personal safety is our number one priority. Way too often we hear awful tales about scary incidents that have happened to women when alone late at night.
Without scaremongering too much, even getting a taxi home alone after a night out, when you’ve had a few drinks can sometimes be an anxiety inducing experience. Have you ever had that one taxi driver who just asks you too many prying questions about your personal life or even for a phone number (I know I have).
Introducing Grandma Uber, real name Kathy Raydings, an enterprising pensioner whose main mission in life is to get women home safely.

Kathy decided to go into the Uber business in January after a horrible dog attack left her unable to work. However the 57-year-old soon realised that there was a huge gap in the market for reliable and honest Uber drivers whose main focus was protecting women from sexual assault.
According to stuff.co.nz the grandmother of two said that she started hearing more and more stories about young women being sexually abused and sometimes being locked in cars by other taxi drivers in the Brisbane area.
Her message spread like wildfire and now Kathy boasts a passenger list of over 700 regular users who all rely on her to get them home safe.

On top of all that, her taxi rides sound absolutely hilarious. She’s known to deck her cab out with complimentary food, snacks and even a massive box of chocolates.
Grandma Uber has already hit legendary status and she shows no sign of slowing down. Kathy has her sights set on Uber domination- she plans on expanding her fleet by adding more granny’s under the trusted brand.
We can think of nothing that gives us more life than this. Grandma Uber needs to come to Ireland so she can wipe our curry flavored tears off our face and give us solid 3am relationship advice.
