This Festival In Waterford Sums Up The Irish Sense of Humour Perfectly

We've said it before... Only in Ireland! Just last week we brought you the story that Waterford County Council has plans to outlaw smoking, cursing and skating in public parks. The new by-laws are set to be introduced later this summer, with a hefty fine of €1,270 for anyone who flouts the rules. However, the people of Waterford have taken matters into their own hands and a brand new festival has been announced for the county. Fast forward to August 1^st and you will be able to enjoy the inaugural Waterford BBQ, smoking, skating, flowerpicking, model aeroplane flying and cursing festival which will kick off in The People’s Park. And what to you need for such an event we hear you ask? For organizers, the answer is simple: “Yourself, including all your barbeque, smoking, skating, flowerpicking, model aeroplane flying and cursing paraphernalia.” The event page is getting a lot of love on Facebook, with over 1,500 people already signed up.
