YouTubers Dit Is Normaal were worried about the level of scrutiny The Islamic Faith has recently faced. Critics have claimed that believers have no place in the Western world and that their faith is barbaric.
The YouTube duo wrote: “Islam has been under huge scrutiny lately and is often criticised for being an aggressive religion… but what about Christianity?
“In this video we disguised a Bible as a Quran and read some of it’s most gruesome verses to the people. This is what they had to say”.
They highlighted particularly aggressive paragraphs including, “a woman should learn in quietness and full submission” and “You will eat the flesh of your own sons… and the flesh of your own daughters”.
They also read out violent reprimands and passages of severe conflict. The people stopped were obviously unimpressed and claimed the passages were beyond belief questioning, “how could anyone believe in this?”
When the source of the words were revealed they reflected on their knowledge of Christianity with many stating they had no idea of the severity of the bible.
The survey proved that religion solely cannot be blamed for conflict and that the onus is on the believer to fully understand and interpret faith.
