While Galway is not exactly noted as a hotbed of paranormal activity, a series of pictures released three years ago sparked chatter of a ghostly presence haunting The Long Walk - believed to be the ghost of a 19th Century Claddagh nun.
At the time, Galway historian William Henry said that there were many stories of hauntings around the Claddagh, Wolfe Tone Bridge and Long Walk over the years.
We're not aware of any ghost-hunters based in Galway either, but the South East is home to Wexford Paranormal, a 14-strong ghost hunting team. According to their website, they offer "a professional, free-of-charge paranormal investigation service using the latest equipment and methodology and our aim is to scientifically investigate alleged hauntings and/or paranormal activity."
