The big freeze.
If you’ve been wondering what is actually going on with the mild weather of late, that’s all about to change.
Temperatures are set to drop considerably overnight, between 0 and -4 degrees.
Having walked to work at 6:30 a.m. this morning, I can confirm that it was a lot colder than recent days and that looks set to continue over the rest of the week.
According to Met Éireann, there will be a “sharp to severe frost” away from Atlantic coasts so tomorrow morning, drivers should be aware of overnight frost, lending to “icy patches”.
From Wednesday then, you can expect “patchy frost” overnight, scattered showers, blustery winds and wait for it, CRISP SUNSHINE.
Nothing new there then, just your average four seasons in one day.
However, things will take a turn for the worse on Friday with “stormy conditions” predicted.
You can expect “very wet and windy” weather and weather warnings are likely to come into operation with the changeable weather expected to continue over Christmas weekend.
