There’s a dog festival coming to Dublin and we’re far too excited

After the huge success of Mutt Mardi Gras the last two years, The Doggie Do is coming back to Dublin. Over 1,400 people and their canine friends turned out to last year’s event and this year is sure to be even bigger. Taking place on Sunday, September 10, The Doggie Do and Dogs Trust will be taking over Herbert Park in Ballsbridge with cultural talks, photography demos, and the event’s biggest attraction – the annual canine costume competition.

“The competition is inspired by New York's infamous Halloween Dog Parade, and offers an opportunity for the community of dog-owners to get together – and for everyone to enjoy the spectacle of dogs (and some humans) in fancy dress under the watchful eye of an esteemed panel of judges/dog fashion enthusiasts,” says the event organisers. “While the style stakes are set to be at an all time high given the creativity seen in other years, hopefuls should note that judges are also drawn to the back stories and inspiration of all pooch participants.”

With specialist canine carers on hand to answer all your doggy questions, this event is not to be missed by proud dog owners.
