Good news for all you tribespeople out there!
Hasbro has this week announced that they will be making a very special version of popular board game Monopoly.
The toymaker revealed that a special Galway version of the game will be released in October and will feature some of the county’s most iconic landmarks including the Galway Racecourse and Eyre Square.
The best part of it all though is that they are inviting members of the public to help create the board with the most ‘inventive’ suggestion receiving the very first board in October.
“No official game has ever been produced based on Galway,” said Robert Osborne spokesperson for Hasbro.
“The county and city has been on our radar for a long time. It has always been a case of ‘when’ not ‘if’.
“We are now delighted that the dice is rolling on Galway,” he continued. “The board is very much a blank canvas at the moment so we are inviting input from the Galway public and beyond as the region is a magnet for tourists from across the world.”
As for us, we think they should add in Supermac’s on Eyre Square for good measure!
