There’s A Special New Arrival In Dublin Zoo… And You Can Help Name Her!

Just LOOK at her! We are hot footing it down to Dublin Zoo this week as they are celebrating the birth of a female Asian lion and she is just the cutest thing we’ve ever seen! The cub was born to mum Sita who came from Mulhouse Zoo in France and dad Kumar who came from Rotterdam Zoo in the Netherlands. The cub is nearly 10 weeks old. She is the third Asian lion cub born at the zoo since May of last year and joins a pride of five Asian lions. “We are thrilled with our new arrival,” said team leader Ciaran McMahon. “These lions are endangered in the wild and it is important for conservation that zoos maintain a viable population of Asian lions." Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen? “The female cub is settling in very well. At 10 weeks old she now weighs an estimated 5kg and has developed a strong bond with mum Sita.” Dublin Zoo are now asking the public to suggest a name for the new arrival based on her Asian origin. Suggestions can be submitted via DublinZoo.ie from 9am on Friday morning.
