There’s nothing quite like a sing-song in JJs to get you in the mood.
The Irish festival has well and truly kicked off in Bahrain this weekend, and it looks like it was absolutely mighty craic altogether.
Famous in Dubai for his performances in Fibber Magees, the Paddyman was keeping the crowds entertained with songs from the old country (which of course included The Fields of Athenry).
The Fields of Athenry. Bahrain Irish Society and friends! Part 1 of the celebrations last night. Now for round 2 at JJ’s Irish Restaurant …

Go on ya good thing.
The craic didn’t end there though, as the session carried on into today, with hundreds of Irish descending on the hugely popular JJ’s for round two and it’s fair to say, we missed out on one hell of a party.
Jaysus I just love the bahrain irish festival! Special thanks to Stephen Pierce who performed this year (on fiddle) and made a savage impression on the girls with his kilt and beard!!

The event was part of the Irish Festival in Bahrain and the Middle East Gaelic games, which attracts loads of ex-pats who are playing GAA over in the Middle East, with teams from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Oman, Al Ain, Ruwais, Qatar and Bahrain all involved – to name but a few.
Here’s a clip of what went on on the sidelines thanks to Jerome Quinn who was over there soaking up the rays.
