The newest trending theme at the wedding is a couple’s hashtag, with the tradition jumping from 9% of couple’s using the practice in 2012 to 55% of newlyweds signing off on their big day with a social media banner.
The study also found that of the couples who were married in 2014, a third of them posted their engagement to their social media channels within two hours of accepting the proposal.
The most popular couple hashtag? Well everything from #TheSmiths to combination nicknames (we’re looking at you #Kimye) remain popular with couples, while there is even a social media concierge service who will handle your media channels in the run up to your big day. We can only assume the $3,000 fee includes a quirky hashtag.
