We all know what it feels like when that scale tips the wrong way but this chubby Dachshund was horrified when he weighed in a whopping 5.5 stone.
Obese Obi may even be eligible for The Biggest Loser now that he is twice the average size for the breed.
To top it all off, Obi’s owners recently gave him up for adoption but lucky for him he fell right into the arms of his new mom Nora Vanetta.
The animal lover has put Obi on a restricted diet in order to slim him down so he can show off a new trim figure at the local park.

The veterinary technician from Portland Oregon said Obi is dealing with his new limited diet like a trooper.
“He is extremely sweet and loving. He was obviously loved and is a joy to work with.
“The ageing owners just couldn’t say no to those big brown eyes,” she said.
Although Obi is too fat to even move his legs, Nora is confident that he will reach his goal weight through his special diet and hydrotherapy.

The owner has two other dogs a Labrador and another Dachshund who provide Obi with the motivation he needs to shed the pounds.
Despite the long journey ahead of him, Nora is confident that Obi has the power to lose the weight and start a new life as a slim-line Dachshund.
“My hope is that he can be an inspiration to any person or animal trying to lose weight.”
We think Obi will be back in those skinny jeans in no time!
