Many thought that the newlywed was annoyed about the proposal and that popping the question at someone else's wedding is rather rude.
However, it now seems we were all wrong about the picture as the Ohio woman has spoken out to explain the context of the controversial pic.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, the woman (named only as Megan) said: “My fiancé told her he didn't want to ruin their day and she insisted it would only make it better!
“The groom of the wedding actually held my engagement ring the entire trip! Everyone in the Reddit picture knew the proposal was going to happen except for me!”
Megan, who is actually the bride's sister, went on to explain how close the two couples are.
She said: “She's actually trying not to cry because it was such a happy moment for all of us.”
