The weather is set to change dramatically with a possible hurricane

The name of this hurricane is Disney inspired.

Hurricane Gaston.

This weekend was unexpectedly mild but that’s set to change dramatically by next week, according to recent weather reports.

At the moment, Hurricane Gaston originated on the Florida coast and is now hovering over the Atlantic.

It’s thought that HG could make its way over here by next week although, at that stage, the effects of the hurricane will have lessened somewhat.

That said, there will be some windy weather to deal with similar to the many storms that arrived on Irish coasts last year.

Discussing Hurricane Gaston with The Daily Record, a spokesperson for independent weather group MeteoGroup said:

“Hurricane Gaston is the latest hurricane to develop in the Atlantic and has reached its peak with gusts up to 85 to 90mph, although this system is expected to slowly weaken and track north-westwards,”

“It will eventually head north then north eastwards towards to the UK as a low pressure system, potentially disrupting our weather next week”.

Back to this week then and thankfully, Monday has got off to a pleasant start.

Although, there might be a little drizzle at some point today, tomorrow is set to be “warm and dry”.

Wednesday is going to be gorge as well, although there might be a couple of showers, “in the west and north”.

Thursday and Friday are also set to be fairly decent with “sunny spells” expected in the East.

Early indications for Saturday suggest “wet and blustery” conditions which will disappoint EP goers but sure listen, it could all change again by then.
