This is not how most breakups look. As much as we all swear we’ll stay friends with an ex, unless of course they did something really awful, it never happens. As for addressing the breakup on Facebook? That’s usually a case of waiting until the dead of night to change your relationship status back to single and pray to God no nosy night-owls are up to catch you.
Not so with young Luke Slaney. Yet to be embittered by the experience of years, the 18–year-old took to the social networking site to tell friends that he and his girlfriend of three years were to go their separate ways. In a very detailed post he praised his ‘incredible’ young love, and gushed about the happy times they had shared together. The sign-off of “I love you so much Tara and I’ll always be there for you and your family and if any lad hurts you I’ll brake there legs” [sic] is particularly amazing.
Since the status was posted on Sunday it has gone viral, attracting over 75,000 likes and over 1,000 shares on Facebook. We suspect this young gent will have no trouble finding future girlfriends, but for a truly happy ending these two simply have to get back together, right?
