Pre-ordered sales of the smartphone can be collected in shops today with providers reporting a “phenomenal response”.
The mobile network 3 sold its first iPhone to a very happy Kerryman.
Paul Healy, 25, took a break from the Arthur’s Day celebrations and skipped to the Grafton Street store where he got his paws on the much-hyped iPhone 5 last night.
No worries now Paul… The first Irish iPhone goes to Kerryman Paul Healy.. congratulations!
You may want to start saving up, or getting saving your Santa list for the phone alone, as it doesn’t come cheap.
Pre-pay prices on the 3 network for the iPhone 5 are around €659 while a 16GB on a monthly price plan costs around €139.
Spokeswoman Sharon McHugh doubts Irish customers will be forming queues outside the shops, as many of them pre-ordered their phones online.
She said; “Most have pre-ordered their handsets from September 21st and they can collect it any of our stores at their leisure.”
