As the weather gets better, take advantage of Ireland’s coast
The best thing about Ireland is the fact that we’re an island, which means we have a lot of coast and, likewise, a lot of wonderful beaches.
If you’re lucky enough to live near a beach, why not take advantage of the next fine, spring day we have and take your children to the seaside?
A day at the beach is the perfect way to entertain little ones, get out of the house and enjoy the natural beauty of our little country. Spend the time making a packed lunch before you set off and bring towels, a wind breaker (in case it’s a little chilly), buckets and spades. Given the fact that it’s still Feburary, you might want to stay out of the water and instead just focus on having fun on land.
You can entertain the children by teaching them how to make sandcastles, playing chase, going on a hunt for unusual looking seashells and seeing who can run up the sand dunes the fastest.
This is an excellent way to get the children moving and you’ll be surprised at how much a day at the beach will tire them out.
You’ll arrive home feeling refreshed and ready for a relaxing evening. Once you put the little ones to bed, treat yourself to quiet night with your other half.
The result of a day at the beach means that you’ll have a happy family and the fact that it’s pretty inexpensive means that you’ll also have a happy bank balance at the end of the day too.
