The moment a Tipperary granny is surprised with a trip to New York is adorable

She never expected a thing.

There's nothing like an Irish granny. One generation before the Irish Mammy, our grannies are humble, polite, generous, and, most importantly, full of incredible stories about Ireland in a different time. One Irish granny who is making headlines is 80-year-old Olive Chester, who was captured being surprised by her granddaughter Lorraine Butler. The viral clip shows Elaine and her beloved granny Olive checking in at the airport desk, all ready for a trip to London, but as the airport clerk tells the women of their flight information, Olive gets the surprise of her life. The woman behind the desk tells Olive "You're going to New York", and as she looks in disbelief, her granddaughter Elaine tells confirms that they are in fact travelling to the Big Apple. And her reaction is priceless. Her face cracks into a massive smile and she hugs her granddaughter with gratitude, blushing, laughing and repeatedly saying "Oh my God". What a lovely woman. From the looks of things, the pair have been celebrating in true style, drinking cocktails and seeing the sights. Sure what other way would you spend your 80th birthday?
