The hotel that inspired the horror classic, The Shining,is planning to dig up its pet cemetery and replace it with something else.
According to gawker.com, the Stanley hotel in Estes Park in Colorado are planning to replace the cemetery with a “wedding and corporate retreat pavilion.”
There have been objections to the announcement, but according to the website, the hotel is mainly worried about the noise created by building works and not the possibility of ghost dogs roaming around the place.

However, the hotel itself is believed to be one of the most haunted buildings in the States, without the help of a few Stephen King characters.
A number of guests have reported ghosts in the ballroom, while staff actually reported a party going on in the ballroom when it was entirely empty. Others have heard someone playing the piano.
The hotel reportedly even has a “ghost thief” who can be seen standing over people’s beds and then running into the closet in one of the rooms.
Due to its eerie location, it’s easy to understand why King chose it as the model for the Overlook hotel.
Perhaps he may be writing another version of Pet Sematary when the building work is done.
Two words. Ghost Dog.
