They do say that all good things come to an end and it seems Irish heatwaves are no exception.
That’s right, the plus-30C temperatures that have gripped the country during the last two weeks are set to end.
Met Éireann forecaster David Rogers told the Irish Independent: “The heatwave is officially over.”
But there’s no need to get out the winter clothes and turn the heating back on just yet as forecasters expect temperatures to remain in the mid-20s for a few more weeks yet.
Over the coming days, it will be cloudier and there is a chance of thundery showers but they are not expecting a great deal of rainfall and humidty will remain high.
So in other words there will be no need for your sunglasses, a small umbrella might be a good idea and the sleepless nights and melted chocolate are going to continue for another while yet...
