The Girl on the Train has been one of the standout books of this year so it comes as no surprise that it’s heading for the big screen.

According to Deadline DreamWorks has picked up the rights to the novel, written by Paula Hawkins, and Marc Platt is set to produce the movie.

It seems both parties were keen to get involved even before the book was published and, with its success, things are moving very quickly.

Director Tate Taylor and screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson are also said to be involved. As yet, there’s no casting news.
