Anyone who was watching the GAA action last weekend will have noticed a number of pigeons ruling the pitch during the games.

They ruled the roost last year too.

Now, the GAA has decided to take matters into their own hands and have enlisted the help of a hawk in order to sort out the problem.

Speaking about the move, Croke Park stadium director Peter McKenna stated that the grass seed being put down seems to be what is attracting them.

They had no fear of Kerry last weekend.

“They’re probably not really pigeons either, they’re more kind of vermin,” he told Newstalk.

“What we want to do is scare them away.”
