Do you think Ireland is a great place to live? Well, our little island must be doing something right because two Irish towns and one county have been voted among the best places to live in the entire world.

According to reports this morning, Abbeyleix in Laois, Moynalty in Meath and the county of Wicklow scooped up the trophies at the LivCom Awards. The awards themselves celebrate places within the world that improve people’s lives through creating “liveable” communities.

County Wicklow took home the gold, while Abbeyleix and Moynalty both nabbed the silver. Not bad when you consider that these small towns were up against loads of bigger communities.

Stunning Wicklow has been voted as one of the best places to live in the world

This is the second time that county Wicklow has won a LivCom award. According to the Irish Independent, the awards were presented to a delegation of three local councillors at the ceremony in the United Arab Emirates.

“It’s all about quality of life,” said cathaoirleach Pat Casey, one of the councillors who travelled to the ceremony.

People of Wicklow, Abbeyleix and Moynalty – we have to ask your opinion. Are these places really that awesome when it comes to actually living there? We’d love to hear your opinions.
