At this point, we think the people running the Tesco Twitter account should actually be running the country.
Whatever situation comes their way, they always manage to handle it with grace, humour and plenty of quality punnage.
So it’s no surprise that when one Waterford man wrote an email of complaint, they once again handled it with aplomb.
‘Sir Michael’, who purchased a laundry basket from the supermarket giant, found one very specific design flaw in the item and sent an “important” email to explain.

The email outlines Sir Michael’s frustration that the basket only has one entry/exit point as he has found himself in quite a predicament after his brother challenged him to see if he could fit in the hamper.
He wrote: “The good news is I did indeed successfully fit in! The bad news though, is that Thomas then sat on top of the hamper and has refused to let me out since.
“I have checked thoroughly for an emergency escape hatch on this laundry hamper but there definitely isn’t one. That seems like a serious design flaw to me.”
Tesco, unshook by Michael’s rather pressing circumstances took to Twitter to offer their support:
@Michael1979 I’d like to appeal to Thomas, to have some pity and release you. Or I will start a petition to free “The Waterford One” Jo (3)
