Smart thinking.

Ten-year-old Brianna Vance has been hailed as a hero after she saved her father’s life by posting a plea for help on Facebook. According to the Daily Mail, a storm in West Virginia knocked out the phone signals and forced Brianna to use Facebook when her father was in trouble.

Brianna’s father was trapped and injured after a massive trunk crashed down on him outside his home in Pecks Mill, West Virginia.

With no phone signal, Brianna was forced to act quickly and posted a distress message to her Facebook account.

“The lightning crashed and hit a tree by our porch and my dad’s almost dead,’ Brianna said. “He needs an ambulance please. Please call one for us if you have a signal. We live in a yellow house, a trailer. Please. We need an ambulance. Please. Please.”

Emergency crews arrived and rushed her father to hospital where he was reported to have a broken collar bone and five broken ribs.

The local police in the area have been heralding the little girl as a hero but she simply claimed that her Dad just needed her help.

“I was scared. I needed help. My dad needed help,’ she said. ‘So I had to post that.”
