Ten-Year-Old Boy Dies of Bacterial Infection from a Spider Bite

The little boy died on Monday morning.

Keith Pierce, from Three Forks, Montana, has died after contracting an infection from a venomous spider bite.

The ten-year-old suffered complications from a leg infection caused by a brown recluse spider bite.

Reports say that Keith was hospitalised after his leg started to swell up and he underwent emergency surgery on Sunday.

According to the New York Daily News, Keith died in St Vincent’s hospital in Billings at about 2am on Monday morning.

A brown recluse spider 

A Facebook page has been set up in memory of Keith, where family and friends have shared memories of the young boy.

Brown recluse spiders are native to the Midwestern and Southeastern states of America and it is rare to see this type of spider outside these areas.
