An American teenager has undergone the first ever penis reduction surgery in the world.
In what surgeons have said is the first operation of its kind, the boys penis, which measured seven inches in length and had a circumference of 10 inches when flaccid, was reduced.
The 17-year-old boy asked doctors to reduce the size of his penis so that he could engage in sporting activities and have sex.
Urologist at the University of South Florida, Rafael Carrion, who carried out the surgery said: “There comes a time in every urologist’s career that a patient makes a request so rare and impossible to comprehend that all training breaks down and leaves the physician speechless.
“That question was “can you make my penis smaller”?’
An x-ray of the boy’s penis before the operation, which was published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Carrion went on to explain that the teenager had difficulty wearing certain clothing because of his ‘large and heavy’ phallus.
“It sounds like a man’s dream – a tremendously inflated phallus – but unfortunately although it was a generous length, its girth was just massive, especially around the middle”.
The boy’s penis, which Carrion compared to an American football, did not grow any bigger when erect it just became firmer.
Carrion added: “Lord knows there’s a global race on how to make it longer and thicker in plastic surgery circles, but very little on how to make it smaller”.
The teenager, who spent two days in hospital in total, is experiencing no problems having normal erections and has full sensation.
