Teenage Boy Suspended For Wearing Handbag To School

Skylar Davis has been wearing his Vera Bradley handbag (pictured above) to school since August but it was only recently that his school had a problem with it. The 13-year-old was suspended after being called to the assistant principal’s office and refusing to take the bag off when told to do so. Skylar is standing by his principles and refusing to take the handbag off. He explained to local television station KCTV: “It expresses myself and I think everyone else can wear it so I can wear it as well.” Skylar wasn’t the only one who was annoyed about his school’s reaction. His mother Leslie Willis said she actually called Anderson County Senior-Junior School, Kansas, to discuss the matter. She said: “I was a little furious so I called the school just to re-verify the story and it was that he refused to take off the Vera Bradley bag and nothing more to it.” According to reports Skylar’s suspension will not be lifted until he takes the bag off which he, with the support of his family and friends, is still refusing to do.
