Tasty Telly Treats That Will Tickle the Tastebuds on All-Ireland Final Day

If a group of GAA fans are crowding around your telly this afternoon to watch the battle between Donegal and Mayo we have some ideas to fill everyone’s bellies!

Her

Ah, All Ireland Final Day. We weren’t lucky enough to nab a ticket to the big match in Croker so we’ll be tuning in at home as GAA fans both big and small watch the big game on our telly.

But cheering on a crowd can sure make us hungry, so we’ll be making some quick and tasty treats to please everyone!

Buffalo Wings With Celery Sticks

Everyone loves chicken wings and they are pretty simple to whip up. All you’ll need is 12 fresh chicken wings, 3tbps of butter, 4 tbsp Worchester Sauce, 1 tbsp paprika, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp of pepper, and ½ tsp chili flakes if desired.

Melt the butter in a large saucepan before combining all of the ingredients. Toss your chicken wings in the marinade and leave in the fridge for 30 minutes. Roast in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes before serving with sticks of carrot and celery on a large plate.

GAA Quesadillas

If you have a few spare wraps lying around your cupboards, this is the perfect recipe for you because quesadillas are very like a sandwich in the way that almost anything you want can fill them.

Place a frying pan on a low heat before throwing one wrap onto the hot surface. This will toast the bread. In the mean time, add your ingredients on top of the wrap. We love tomatoes, mozzarella and basil or a combination of chorizo, sour cream and avocado. However, don’t be afraid to throw a nice piece of ham and some cheddar onto the wrap. It will still be just as delicious!

Add another wrap onto the top and lightly flip the quesadilla over so the other side can toast.

Remove from the heat and cut into triangles as you would a pizza. Serve hot or cold.

Quick Fix Chocolate Buns with Butter-Cream Icing

We want to watch the match too, right? We won’t be baking today but everyone will think we spent the day cooking up these fabulous buns.

Purchase two boxes of mini chocolate muffins in your local super market along with two sticks of unsalted butter, icing sugar and raspberries to decorate.

When you get home, mix together the 140g of room temperature butter and 280g of sifted icing sugar until smooth. Slather onto your ‘home-made’ buns and top off with a pretty raspberry. The perfect cheeky treat!

Sparkling Blackcurrant

Your big man may be hitting the six pack of beer but instead of plying the smallies with rubbishy fizzy drinks, make them a healthy alternative. Instead of still water, make your blackcurrant mixture using sparkling water, which is available in every supermarket. An easy trick to emulate a fizzy drink without the caffeine or the sugar!

Enjoy and may the best team win!
