An Australian survey has found that those who live in small towns tend to be happier.
The Household and Labour Dynamics Survey, conducted by the University of Melbourne, found that people who live in towns with fewer than 1,000 people are happier than those in big cities.
The study did not reveal why this is but experts assume that it is likely to stem from the fact that smaller towns have less traffic and crime.
The survey also found that men get more happiness from marriage than women and de facto couples in general are more satisfied than married couples.
So the moral of the story is… don’t get married and move to a village.
