Farewell summer of 2015, we hardly knew ye…

While an Irish summer isn’t a promise at the best of times, June, July and August of 2015 will surely go down on record as some of the most disappointing in recent memory.

We’ve scarcely had a chance to don a pair of shorts thus far, but it seems one last hurrah may be on the way before the summer clothes are consigned to the attic once more.

According to Met Éireann, next week looks “dry, settled and calm, with little or no wind”.

There will be highs of up to 18 degrees in store, with night-time temperatures falling back to single figures.

It might be too late for the children, but for anyone making Electric Picnic plans for next week it’s very welcome news indeed.
