Would you agree?
Personally, I’m of the opinion that every relationship is different and so, it’s very difficult to say that there’s a perfect formula for what makes a healthy union.
However, the studies conducted on this topic make for interesting reading nonetheless and the latest one comes courtesy of Emory University.
According to their research, couples that have a one year age gap between them have just a three percent chance of divorcing.
Once the gap widens, the study found that there is a greater chance of divorce, 18 percent for a 5-year age gap, 39 percent for a 10-year gap, and twenty years age difference results in a 95 percent chance of divorce… in this particular study anyway.
Researchers collated data from 3,000 people in the United States and they also concentrated on the expense of weddings and the impact this can have on a relationship.

Another conclusion gathered from the data, as pointed out by My Domaine, was that if a couple’s marriage lasts for two years, they’re a lot more likely to stay in it for the long run, 43 percent less likely to break up FYI.
What do you think would you agree with this research or is every couple different?
