All the single ladies… put your hands up.
Good news for those riding solo this week as a new study has revealed that contrary to popular belief, people are just as happy when they are single as when they are loved up.
The study, conducted by Social Psychological and Personality Science from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, interviewed more than 4,000 people once, and then again a year later.
Of course, those who partook experienced relationship status changes within the year, with one-fifth of participants single at both times.
The research found that single people who try to avoid conflict in relationships were just as happy as those who were paired up.
Basically, the key factor for happiness did not involve relationship status, but was more concerned with whether or not the individual avoided or sought drama.
So keep it drama-free, people.
